" Les mécènes du Sud " our new official partner

The FIDMARSEILLE International Documentary Film Festival is pleased to announce the foundation of the "Mécènes du Sud" association, which will be our official partner for this year’s festival.

On the initiative of a group of company managers (C.F.M., Courtage de France, Highco, O.M., Pébéo, Ricard, S.M.C., Vacances Bleues, etc.), "Mécènes du Sud" [literally "Patrons of the South"] aims to facilitate, assist and promote the contemporary creative arts of southern countries, in all forms of expression, and to encourage the development of the Marseille area’s influence and reputation in the world of the arts.

We welcome this new contributor to the region’s artistic life. We are sure that its first collaboration with FIDMARSEILLE marks the start of a fruitful, lasting relationship!

FIDMARSEILLE goes out of town

On the invitation of the French Embassy in Istanbul, Jean-Pierre Rehm was present at the Festival of the Association of Turkish Documentary Film-makers. He took part in a discussion entitled "The documentary film-maker’s identity and globalisation", together with Eric Vidal of the "Etats Généraux du Documentaire" documentary film festival held in Lussas (in the Ardèche, France).

The 8th "It’s all True" Brazilian festival, which will take place from 3 to 13 April in Sao Paolo, has asked Jean-Pierre Rehm to be a member of the international competition jury.

FIDMARSEILLE has been invited to take part in a delegation from the PACA Regional Council of S.E. France to the Tel-Aviv International Film Festival (DOC AVIV), which will take place from 2 to 7 April of this year.

(based upon) TRUE STORIES in Brazil

The "(based upon) TRUE STORIES" exhibition, curatored by Catherine David and Jean-Pierre Rehm, which was presented at the Witte de With centre for contemporary art as part of the Rotterdam International Film Festival last January, will be at the Sao Paolo Contemporary Art Centre for three months.
