FIDMARSEILLE Goes out of town

6th Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival

As part of the 6th Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival, from 14 to 25 April 2004, Emmanuel Burdeau, programmer and participant in the 2002/2003 selection, will present a programme of documentaries including some from the "d. comme docu" Parallel Screen at FIDMARSEILLE 2003

“Grand littoral” by Valérie Jouve, winner of the Georges de Beauregard Prize and the Soundtrack Prize at FIDMARSEILLE 2003.

“Antonioni- La dernière séance” by André S. Labarthe, which was shown at the "d. comme docu" Parallel Screen at FIDMARSEILLE 2003

“Intervista” by Anri Sala, which was shown at the "d. comme docu" Parallel Screen at FIDMARSEILLE 2003

“A Margem da Imagem” by Evaldo Mocarzel, which was shown at the "d. comme docu" Parallel Screen at FIDMARSEILLE 2003

“Pas de feu sans fumée” by Bram Van Paesschen, which was shown at the "d. comme docu" Parallel Screen in the First Film Competition at FIDMARSEILLE 2003

“Miguel et les mines - Fragments” by Olivier Zabat – which had its world première at FIDMARSEILLE 2002, where it was selected for the French competition.

“Lever de drapeau papou filmé par un otage” by Philippe Simon & Johan den Eyden – which had its world première at FIDMARSEILLE 2002, where it was selected for the International competition.

“The Blob” by Gert Verhoeven – which had its world première at FIDMARSEILLE 2002, where it was selected for the International/First Film Competition.

“Tie xi Qu” by Wang Bing – winner of the Grand Prix at FIDMARSEILLE 2003 – its 9 hours long version will be distributed by AD VITAM – release planned for 9 June 2004.

Documentaire sur Grand Ecran proposes “La pause documentaire”, a new rendez-vous for lovers of documentary films, at MK2 Beaubourg, every Friday at 12 noon. The first screening will start on 9 April. Films to note:
“Chili, la mémoire obstinée” by Patricio Guzman – Public Prize at Vue sur les Docs in 1997
“Derniers mots, ma sœur Joke” by Johan van der Keuken – International Competition at Vue sur les Docs 1998

Showing on 19 May 2004 at 8pm in the Centre Social Julien, Marseille: the documentary “Lever de drapeau papou filmé par un otage” by Philippe Simon & Johan den Eyden – which had its world première at FIDMARSEILLE 2002, where it was selected for the International Competition, followed by Paul Meyer’s film “Déjà s’envole la fleur maigre”.

In association with Amnesty International, Alhambra Cinémarseille presents the film by Laurent Bécue-Renard, “De guerres lasses”, of which the first version “Vivre après – Paroles de femmes” won the Planète Prize at FIDMARSEILLE 2000.

INFORMATION

“Tie Xi Qu” by Wang Bing will be shown on Thursday 22 April 2004 at the Cinématographe, followed by Olivier Zabat’s “Miguel et les mines - Fragments” on Friday 23 April 2004. Screenings organised by the Association des Cinémas de l’Ouest pour la Recherche, the Association Nantaise des Rencontres Cinématographiques and the Groupement National des Cinémas de Recherche as part of a pre-screening.
