Follow-up of films selected for FIDMARSEILLE

1/3 DES YEUX by Olivier Zabat, which premiered at FIDMarseille 04 and won the Grand Prix in the French competition comes to French first-run theaters on November 9th 2005.

La fragile armada by Jacques Kébadian and Joani Hocquenghem, which premiered at FIDMarseille 03 in the French competition, comes out to French first-run theaters on November 16th, 2005.

Pour un seul de mes deux yeux by Avi Mograbi, winner of the Special Prize in the FIDMarseille 05 International competition, comes to French movie theaters on November 30th.

These are not my images (neither there nor here) by Irit Batsry, featured in the International Competition at FIDMarseille 2000, has entered the MoMA film collection (New York). It was screened October 24th, 2005 in the museum auditorium and will be presented as part of the «Jerome, Hill and Foundation» exhibition.

IN GIRUM IMUS NOCTE ET CONSUMIMUR IGNI by Guy Debord, shown at FIDMarseille 05, was screened on November 3rd, 2005 at 8:30 p.m. as part of the Cinémas des Utopies Festival in the Espace Magnan's Jean Vigo Hall in Nice, France. A presentation by Jean-Pierre Rehm, FIDMarseille's chief representative, followed the screening.

The Third Memory by Pierre Huyghe, featured at FIDMarseille 04 in the Parallel Screens' «Faits divers» category, was presented on November 9th at 8 p.m. at the Cinéma L’Archipel in Paris, as part of L’AUTRE PAYS DU REEL, a presentation of recent Dutch documentaries, organized by the Dutch Institute in Paris.

WaRRIORS by Peter Kosminsky, featured at the FIDMarseille 2000 in Parallel Screens' «Bosnia, surviving after the war» will be shown on November 12th at 7 pm at the Transat in Cherbourg, France, as part of Transat Vidéo's «Bosnia, I remember» (Phone: 02 31 50 03 70).
Vers Mathilde by Claire Denis, featured in the International Competition at FIDMarseille 05, will be shown at the Exground film festival 18 in Wiesbaden, Germany as part of a Claire Denis retrospective. The film plays at Alpha Kino in Wiesbaden on Sunday, November 13th at 3 p.m.

The film will also contend for the «New Vision Award» in the International Competition at the Copenhagen International Film Festival CPH:DOX, which goes from November 4th to November 13th, 2005.

1/3 DES YEUX by Olivier Zabat, which premiered at FIDMarseille04 and won the French Competition, will be screened November 5th at 8:45 pm at Le Concorde Cinema in Nantes in Olivier Zabat's presence.

It will also be shown on November 22nd at the Institut de l’Image in Aix-en-Provence.

MIGUEL ET LES MINES, selected for the FIDMarseille 02 French competition and 1/3 DES YEUX, two films by Olivier Zabat, will be shown November 22nd at 8 pm at the Cinéma du Panthéon in Paris.

Dreyer pour mémoire - exercice documentaire by Olivier Derousseau witht he help of Anne-Marie Faux, featured in the French Competition at FIDMarseille 05, was selected for Les Ecrans Documentaires Festival, which runs from November 16th to November 20th, 2005 at the Espace Jean Vilar d'Arcueil.

Prisonniers de Beckett by Michka Saäl, featured in the French Competition at FIDMarseille 05, will be screened November 21st at 8 pm at La Garsouille in Caen as part of a program entitled «Questions carcérales», organized and presented by Transat Vidéo (Phone: 02 31 50 03 70).

Ears, open. eyeballs, click. by Canaan Brumley, winner of the Prix Premier in the International Competition at FIDMarseille 05 was selected for the Starz Denver International Film Festival for the «A-Z Feature Films & Documentaries» competition, running from November 10th to November 20th, 2005

Brumley's film was also selected for the «Reflecting Images» category at the IFDA (Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival), running from November 24th to December 4th, 2005 and for the «Full-length documentaries» competition at Entrevues 2005, the Belfort Film Festival, running from November 26th to December 4th, 2005.

HORS LES MURS

As part of Documentary Film Month and for the second consecutive year, the French Cultural Centers in Ho Chi Minh City and in Saïgon, Vietnam have granted carte blanche to FIDMarseille, represented by Jean-Pierre Rehm. Six films from the FIDMarseille 05 selection will be screened from November 9th to December 3rd.
