THE DOC ALLIANCE SELECTION AWARD WILL BE GIVEN DURING THE DOC BRUNCH IN CANNES, on May 20th at 12am.

DOC ALLIANCE is the result of a creative partnership of seven key European film festivals: CPH:DOX Copenhagen, DOC Lisboa, DOK Leipzig, FIDMarseille, Jihlava IDFF, Planete Doc Warsaw and Visions du Réel Nyon.
Doc Alliance Selection is an annual selection of seven films that Doc Alliance considers exceptional and worthy of special support.
Each of Doc Alliance’s partner festivals chooses one film to be part of the selection.
Each festival has the opportunity to present during its annual event from three to the seven films from this selection. In this way, the films receive attention and support on seven national markets, thus facilitating their future road to audiences through their distribution in cinemas, on television, or on DVD and VOD.

VideoFID

FIDMarseille is happy to announce the program of our next VidéoFID : In tribute to Stephen Dwoskin, AGE IS.. will be screened at 8 pm on Tuesday, April 9th, at FIDMarseille

AGE IS… by Stephen Dwoskin
2012, France /United Kingdom, Color, 73 min

The film is an ode to the texture, the beauty, the singularity of aging faces and silhouettes, a hypnotic poem in the « Dwoskinian » meaning of the term which is long ob- servations of very tiny details. A gesture, a pause, a look, a moment. Throughout his films intimacy has always played the leading role and this is also true for « Age is… », all the faces being those of close friends, of their relatives and sometimes even of Stephen himself.

The screening will be followed by a presentation by Antoine Barraud of the book INSIDE OUT – STEPHEN DWOSKIN’S CINEMA , written under his direction, and published by Independencia.

This book reunites authors, cineasts, programmators, critiques, theoricians, art historians and cinema historians, coworkers and admirers of Stephen Dwoskin’s œuvre. Maureen Loiret, Pip Chodorov, Gloria Morano, Philippe Azoury, Pierre Léon, Nicole Brenez, Judith Revault d’Allonnes, William Fowler, Andrea Monti, Anthea Kennedy, Ian Wiblin, Louis Skorecki, ?trajk, Cyril Neyrat, Jean-Pierre Rehm, Philippe Grandrieux, Rachel Bénitah, Raymond Bellour, Tatia Shaburishvili, Sabrina Paul and Pascale Cassagnau.
