" Thanks to a Paillard-Bolex 8 mm videocamera, which I was given at the age of eleven, I quickly ruined my studies, and I found myself, quite young, at the laboratories of cinematographic printing in Saint-Cloud, among printers, development baths, synchronization of black and white films, for pictures, of brown films for sound, projection rooms where we fast-forwarded copies to check them. All this brings me one day to an editing room, where I teach myself the craft, making use of sequences rejected by the editing team. From one stroke of luck to an other, from a Truffaut to a Pialat, from a a Stévenin to a Poirier, from a Marakejev to a Garel, with a growing enthusiasm on the verge of addiction, I build their films, while their films make me. With the help of some unaccomplished artistic dreams, one day I go from the status of craftman, and “big” editor, to that of little artist, and film director. In this I am helped by Japan, which fascinates me so much, and I make chamber films about my dreamed country, which joins the other country, cinema. And I actively keep on editing, to try to learn what I started too late. "
