   AU LOIN DES VILLAGES  by Olivier Zuchuat, in International Competition, Winner of the Public Libraries Prize, screened in its world première at FID 2008, nominated for the Quartz 2009 - Prix du cinéma suisse in the category for “best documentary” was awarded the “voix du public” prize.

 AQUELE QUERIDO MES DE AGOSTO by Miguel Gomes, in International Competition in FID 2008, received the prize for the best feature-film in the International Competition at the BAFICI , in Buenos Aires (Argentina), which ran from March 25 – April 5, 2009.
    
    MIRAGES by Olivier Dury, winner of the First Film Prize and presented in the Parallel Screen “Translating Europe” as a World Premiere at FID 2008,
NOS LIEUX INTERDITS by Leila Kilani, selected in the International Competition as a World Premiere at FID 2008,
are programmed at Docs à Tunis , April 1 – 5, 2009.

 LE TEMPS DES AMOUREUSES  by Henri-François Imbert, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2008, currently in the theatres, will be screened on April 8, 2009 at the Cratère in Toulouse. The director will present the film.


    
   OPTICAL VACUUM  by Dariusz Kowalski, in International Competition, Special Mention for the First Prize, screened in its international première at FID 2008, is programmed April 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. as part of the series, HORS PISTES, at the Centre Pompidou (with backing from the Agence du Court Métrage), from March 27 – April 12, 2009.
    
   To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Festival des 3 Continents, Documentaire sur Grand Ecran offers a Paris showcase for Nantes programming in the documentary vein and is screening from April 14 – 21, 2009 at the Nouveau Latina in Paris :
JE SUIS CELLE QUI PORTE LES FLEURS VERS SA TOMBE by Hala Alabdalla and Ammar Albeik, presented at FID 2007 in the Parallel Screen, “Film, she says”
AL YOUM by Akram Zaatari, in International Competition, screened in its world première and the winner of the Soundtrack Prize from FID 2004.
For this exceptional event, a copy of each of the films has been confided to Documentaire sur Grand Ecran for a period of one year, in order to promote their circulation in France.
    
   THE GIRL WITH X-RAY EYES by Phillip Warnell, in International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2008, is programmed at the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid, held in  Madrid from April 16 – 25, 2009 in the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo Contemporary Art Centre.
    
 ElCielo.jpg EL CIELO, LA TIERRA Y LA LLUVIA  by José Luis Torres Leiva, in International Competition at FID 2008, is programmed at CPH:PIX of Copenhagen (Denmark), from April 16 – 26, 2009.
    
 LettreALaPrison.jpg LETTRE A LA PRISON  by Marc Scialom, screened in a Special Screening and winner of a Special Mention awarded by the GNCR jury of FID 2008, is programmed at CPH:PIX  of Copenhagen (Denmark), from April 16 – 26, 2009 and at the Rencontre Asymétrique de la Villa Medicis, in Rome (Italy), from April  21 –  23, 2009. The director will present the film.
    
 preparateur.gif LE PREPARATEUR by Noëlle Pujol, in French Competition, screened in its world première at FID  Marseille 2006, is programmed at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris on April 19, 2009 at 4 p.m.  Free-of-charge. The director will take questions after the screening.
    
 ViaDeAcesso.jpg VIA DE ACESSO  by Nathalie Mansoux, in French Competition, screened in its international première at  FID 2008, received the Human Rights prize at the FICCO,  in Mexico. It has also been selected by the Crossing Europe Filmfestival,  in Linz (Austria), from April 20 – 26, 2009.

 Arusha.jpg D'ARUSHA A ARUSHA by Christophe Gargot, winner of the Georges de Beauregard National Prize, screened in its world première at FID 2008, has been selected for IndieLisboa in Lisbon (Portugal), from April 23 – May 3, 2009.
    
   THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED  by Kim Bartley and Donnacha O’Briain, in International Competition, winner of the Georges de Beauregard International Prize, screened in its French première at  FID 2003,
RADIO LA COLIFATA
by Chloé Ouvrard and Pierre Barougier, selected in French Competition at FID 2002
are programmed in the series, « Décade de cinéma »  in Tulle, from April 23 – May 3, 2009 at the Palace cinema. This festival is organized by Autour du 1er Mai, Peuple et Culture, the cinéma Le Palace in Tulle.
    
 
 

PRESTO - PERFECT SOUND by Manon de Boer, presented at FID 2007 in the Parallel Screen “Presto!,” is screened as part of the exhibition “A story of the image” in the Shanghai Art Museum (China), from April 30 – April 21, 2009.



    
   LA LUNE RONDE by Fernando Lopez, selected in French Competition, screened in its world première at FID 2005, is published in DVD version by Doc Net Films.

JORIS IVENS RETROSPECTIVE at the CINEMATHEQUE FRANÇAISE
 from March 5th to April 5th.

Joris Ivens was a politically committed filmmaker and an inspired poet. The programme states again the importance of Joris Ivens’ look on the twentieth century, its injustices, its struggles, its failures, but also its hopes, achievements and moments of happiness.

Please note that a forum « Joris Ivens, a history of wind » will take place on Sunday March 15th at 4.00pm :
Participants : Marceline Loridan Ivens, Jean-Pierre Sergent, Adrienne Fréjacques, André Stufkens et Claude Brunel.
