News of films selected at FIDMARSEILLE

    
     PRESTO - PERFECT SOUND by Manon de Boer, presented at FID 2007 in the Parallel Screen “Presto!” was screened in the exhibition “A Story of the Image,” from August 13 – October 4, 2009,a the National Museum in Singapor. The film is also being screened at the Lentos Museum, in Linz (Austria) in the exhibition “See This Sound,” from August 28, 2009 – January 10, 2010.
    
 
 LE PLEIN PAYS by Antoine Boutet, winner of the GNCR Prize, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, is screened at the Printemps de Septembre in Toulouse from September 25 – October 18, 2009. The film is also programmed in the Rencontres du cinéma documentaire, at The Méliès Cinema in Montreuil from October 6 – 13, 2009.
    
   DEMOCRATIE ? by Florence de Comarmond, presented in the Vidéothèque Bis at FID 2009, is screened Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the Marcel-Pagnol Cinema in Malakoff. The filmmaking team will be present.
    
   DE SON APPARTEMENT by Jean-Claude Rousseau, Grand Prix of the International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2007,
COOPÉRATIVE E by Raphaël Grisey, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009,
have been selected at the Underdox Festival in Munich from October 1 – 7, 2009.
    
   VIDEOMAPPINGS : AIDA, PALESTINE by Till Roeskens, Grand Prix of the French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, is selected at the Underdox, Festival in Munich from October 1 – 7, 2009. The film is also being screened by monoquini, in its programme “INTERSECTIONS,” from October 10 – 17, 2009 in Bordeaux. It is also selected in Doclisboa, in Lisbon (Portugal) from October 15 – 25, 2009 and in DocBsAS09, in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from October 15 – 25, 2009.
    
   ENCONTROS by Pierre-Marie Goulet, winner of the Sound Prize, screened in its world premiere at FID 2006, was screened October 2, 2009 at 8:30 p.m. at the Studio des Ursulines in Paris, as part of the 8th edition of the Semaine des cultures étrangères. The screening was followed by a Q and A with the director.
    
 
 THE CAT, THE REVEREND AND THE SLAVE by Alain della Negra and Kaori Kinoshita, winner of the Georges de Beauregard National Prize and the GNCR Prize, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, has been selected at the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur (Belgium) from October 2 – 9, 2009 and at the Festival International de Valdivia (Chile), from October 15 – 20, 2009. The film was also screened at the Cinématographe, in Nantes.
    
 
 LES RACINES DU BROUILLARD by Dounia Bovet-Wolteche, Special award for the First Film Prize, in International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, has been selected in the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur (Belgium) from October 2 – 9, 2009. The film is also programmed at Béjaïa doc – les rencontres du film documentaire, from October 20 – 23, 2009, in the Béjaïa Cinémathèque (Algeria).
    
    MATERIAL by Thomas Heise, Grand Prix of the International Competition, screened in its French premiere at FID 2009, was screened October 2, 2009 at 5 p.m. in the 14th Festival du cinéma allemand (Festival of German Cinema) in Paris. The film is also selected in the Viennale 09 (Austria), from October 22 – November 4, 2009.
    
   On the occasion of selection of his most recent film Z32 in official competition in the International Festival of Documentary Film in Yamagata (Japan), the Institut Franco-japonais de Tokyo (French-Japanese Institute of Tokyo) presented on October 2 and 3, 2009, nine films by the Israeli director Avi Mograbi. RELIEF, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR MOGRABI, AOUT - AVANT L'EXPLOSION, COMMENT J'AI APPRIS A SURMONTER MA PEUR ET A AIMER ARIEL SHARON, presented in the Parallel Screen “Rétroviseur sur Avi Mograbi” at FID 2001.

    
   HINTERLAND by Marie Voignier, in French Competition, winner of the Public Libraries Prize, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009,
MANIQUERVILLE by Pierre Creton, in International Competition, Marseille Espérance Prize, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009,
Are screened October 2 and 3 at the Cinématographe, in Nantes.
    
 
 LES COMPLICES by Nora Martirosyan, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, is programmed at the Recontres Cinématographiques au Belvédère du Rayon-Vert à Cerbère, in Cerbère from October 2 – 4, 2009

    
    DILETANTE by Kris Niklison in International Competition, screened in its international premiere at FID 2008 is programmed in the Recontres Cinématographiques au Belvédère du Rayon-Vert à Cerbère, from October 2-4, 2009, at the Festival International de Valdivia (Chile), from October 15 – 20, 2009, and at the Semana Internacional de cine de Valladolid (Spain), from octobr 23-31, 2009.

 LES OISEAUX D'ARABIE by David Yon, presented in First Competition in the Parallel Screen “Ghosts of History” at FID 2009, is screened at the Espace Renoir, in Roanne in Daniel Boitier’s lecture “Devenir des images de Simone Weil,” on October 9, 2009.
The film is programmed in DocBsAS09, in Buenos Aires (Argentina), from October 15 – 25, 2009, at the Viennale 09 from October 22 – November 4, 2009 and in the Écrans Documentaires in Arcueil, from October 27 – November 1, 2009.
    
    LE PREPARATEUR by Noëlle Pujol, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2006, is programmed by the Institut Français de Bucarest, on October 14, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.on a proposal of Oana Tanase. The director will be present.

    LES ARCHERS by Martin Verdet, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, is selected at Doclisboa, n Lisbon (Portugal) from October 15 – 25, 2009 and in the Écrans Documentaires of Arcueil from October 27 – November 1, 2009.
    
   GENNARIELLO DUE VOLTE by Elise Florenty, in French Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, is programmed at DocBsAS09, in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from October 15 – 25, 2009. The film will also be available for consultation in the archives of Émilie Renard’s colloquium “L'Arcadie ailleurs et maintenant, autrefois et ici et l'année prochaine” at the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint-Étienne, on October 23 – 24, 2009.
    
 
 FACS OF LIFE by Silvia Maglioni and Graeme Thomson in International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2009, is programmed at the Lucca Film Festival (Italy), from October 20 – 25, 2009.
    
   THE ONE MAN VILLAGE by Simon El Habre, shown in a special screening at FID 2009, is selected at AMAL, Festival Internacional de Cine Euro-Arabe in Saint James of Compostela (Spain) from October 23 – 31, 2009.
    
   MM, LAST INTERVIEW by Guillaume Bureau, presented in First Competition in the Parallel Screen “Ghosts of History” at FID 2009, has been selected for the Écrans Documentaires of Arcueil from October 27 – November 1, 2009.
    
   THE GIRL WITH X-RAY EYES by Phillip Warnell in International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2008, is programmed in the 1st International Film Festival of Cali (Colombia), from October 27 – November 2, 2009.
    
    TRAVELLING AMAZONIA by Marine Hugonnier, in International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2006, is programmed at the Centre Pompidou in the series “Prospectif cinéma 2009-2010” on October 29, 2009 at 8 p.m. The screening will be presented by Cyril Neyrat.
    
    COSMONAUT POLYAKOV de Dana Ranga, in International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2007, is programmed at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, on October 29th, 7pm, being presented by Urs Fischer
    
   

THEATRICAL RELEASES

    
    NOS LIEUX INTERDITS by Leila Kilani, in International Competition, screened in its world premiere at FID 2008, was released in France on September 30, 2009.
Screening times are available on the site du film.
Of particular interest: the film was screened from September 30 – October 4, 2009 at the Alhambra in Marseille with a special screening on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. with its producer Gérald Collas.
    
   THE ONE MAN VILLAGE by Simon El Habre, shown in a special screening at FID 2009, will be released in Lebanon from October 15 in the Metropolis Empire Sofil, Achrafieh, in Beirut.
