VideoFID

As part of the VideoFid soirées, FIDMarseille is happy to invite you to a screening on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 8 p.m. of the films À CIEL OUVERT and LA CAMPAGNE DE SÃO JOSÉ by Marie-Pierre Brêtas, screened at FID 2010 in the Parallel Screen, "Anthropofolies." The screening will be held at the FIDMarseille premises and the director will be present.

Entrance fee 3 €. Reservations recommended, drinks included.

In northeast Brazil, Anibal, a rural landowner, breeder of zebus, political animal and doctor when it fancies him barters his services against the promises of the electoral ballets. Here we are dragged into strange world. From house to house, we follow him. Or rather we lose our way. In nature, which opens magnificently the film, majestic metaphor for the trouble in which we are going to plunge. And which carries us into incredible and incessant political calculation, in enigmatic psychologies of characters who walk, doze off, dance and endlessly chatter. This film, winner of the 2009 Grand Prix of the FIDADOC, manages to check off with modesty the range of a territory, of its panic-stricken imaginary, where the existence of each intermingles with that of all, social contract dictated by the imperative of survival.
