VideoFID

As part of the VideoFID soirées and in collaboration with Sextant & plus, FIDMarseille is pleased to invite you, on Monday March 21, 2011 at 8 p.m., to a screening of the film TRASH HUMPERS by Harmony Korine, presented in the Parallel Screen “Anthropofolies” at FID 2010.

Entrance Fee 3 €. Reservations are highly recommended. Drinks included.

Harmony Korine’s commitment to marginality is well-known: the displaced, the lost teenagers described in his scripts for Larry Clark. Here we are in the United States, in the deep South, a small group of lunatics wander aimlessly and wear ludicrous masks imitating a ravaged old age. Festive rituals or intensely carnivalesque gestures, they attack everything that comes their way, which is now a sexual object subject to their scatological drives for fornication. For his fourth feature film, Harmony Korine, who owes as much to David Lynch and Herzog as to the exuberance of artists like Mike Kelley or Paul McCarthy, offers a breathless dive into the heart of the American nightmare, bad dream awake, transgression and reaffirmation of this suburban American, filmed like a home video by its “sociopaths” themselves, including Korine.
