KARIMA As part of the VidéoFID evenings, FIDMarseille is pleased to screen the film, KARIMA by Clarisse Hahn, French Competition, screened in its world premiere in FID 2003, Monday, December 22,  2008 at 8 p.m. on its premises. The director will be present.

3 € entrance fee. Reservations are recommended ; drinks are included.

Karima is a “dominatrix”. At home, she orchestrates the full range of sado-masochistic practices for her sex slaves. The film shows the details of the ceremonies, and also the attitudes towards them and that surround them. The point of view is neither coldly objective nor overstated: it is just right. Those who indulge in sado-masochism do not want to stretch or go beyond a given limit. They just want the techniques that suit their pleasures and their pains. It is this mutually- balanced combination of knowledge and self-surrender that the film depicts with exemplary restraint – thus making it all the more powerful.
