|Wilbirg Brainin-Donnenberg, film curator, is the director of the Screenwriters Forum Vienna and a board member of FC Gloria Women's Film Network. Between 1993 and 2004, she worked for the Austrian independent film distribution company sixpackfilm and she was Head of Diagonale Film Industry Meeting from 2010 to 2013. She curated numerous film programs as freelance curator (e.g. Phantoms, Metamorphoses, Animism in Film for Generali Foundation Vienna, Focus Austria for Hamburg International Short Film Festival, Media Art Pioneers in Austria, Women and Madness in Film, Hommage to Anne Charlotte Robertson) and she also created film events for the Austrian Film Museum and the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. She is also the co-editor of the book Gustav Deutsch. In 2016, she initiated the screenwriter's award “If she can see it, she can be it : Female Roles beyond Clishees“.||After 10 years working at Mantarraya, an independent production company in Mexico, in 2016 she created Luxbox, her own international sales and co-production company, in partnership with Hédi Zardi.
Luxbox started in 2016 winning Best First Feature Film and Silver Bear for Best Actor at Berlinale, with the film Hedi by Mohammed Ben Attia. In Cannes, Apprentice by Boo Junfeng was selected at Un Certain Regard and Mimosas by Oliver Laxe won the Grand Prize at the Critic’s Week.
In 2017, Luxbox is representing Jeannette by Bruno Dumont, A Ciambra by Jonas Carpignano – Director’s Forthnight 2017 – and Barrage by Laura Schroeder, with Lolita Chammah and Isabelle Huppert – Berlinale 2017.
|Roberto Olla is the Executive Director of Eurimages, the Council of Europe’s film fund. A lawyer by training, he holds a Ph.D. in entertainment law from the European University Institute of Florence.
Roberto Olla joined Eurimages in January 2002 as a project manager and in 2008 became its Executive Director. Before this, he was a researcher in media law, worked for the MEDIA Programme of the European Union and was a legal adviser on audio-visual matters to the European Commission in Brussels.
He contributes his specialised expertise in film production to many European training initiatives in this sector.
